Culture in the open, where neighbourhood happens: a programme between trees, chairs and strings of lights.
01 — What it is about
Garten der Kulturen is the small counterpart to the big hall: a programme in a place where people already are. A courtyard, a garden, a pavilion — and music that does not take itself too seriously to play outdoors.
Formats like this work differently from a concert hall. It is about closeness, about short sets, about musicians who can talk to an audience, and about a programme that reaches children, neighbours and specialists on the same evening.
For municipalities, foundations and venues with outdoor space, I build exactly these kinds of series.
