    For venues, museums, festivals, cultural institutes, foundations

    Programme curation

    A season with a signature instead of a list of names.

    A concert series or a whole season with a dramaturgy: which sound comes when, which evening carries the next, what the audience learns without being lectured. I build the series from the first research to the signed contract.

    • Research and pre-selection of artists from the Maghreb, the Mashreq, Central Asia and Latin America
    • Dramaturgy of the series: order, arc, formats between concert, conversation and dance

    Festival production

    Visas, riders, travel routes — the part where festivals fail.

    From the first idea to the last flight case in the truck. I take on the production of a festival or a festival strand — and specifically the part that hurts: travel routes, visas, riders, schedules, people from four time zones who are supposed to be on the same stage on time.

    Programme consulting

    An honest verdict on your programme, in writing within a week.

    You have a team, a schedule and still the feeling that something does not carry. I read your programme against the grain, tell you where the dramaturgy tips over, which line-up is not worth its fee and which gap you have overlooked — regardless of who made the suggestion.

    Artist placement & booking

    A direct line to ensembles that appear on no platform.

    Much of what interests me has no agency and no website. The way there runs through people you have known for decades. If you want a particular tradition, a particular instrument or a particular region on your stage, I find the line-up and make the contact.

    Conferences & panels

    A panel people listen to right to the end.

    Concept, panel and running order for conferences and panels on culture, migration and music. I make sure several generations and several languages are at the table and that nobody has to speak as the representative of an entire background.

    Hosting & moderation

    Context without lecturing — and stopping in good time.

    Decades at the microphone, many of them on the radio. I host concert evenings, festival stages and panels in German, French and Arabic — and I know when an audience needs an explanation and when it simply wants to hear music.

    For clubs, museum nights, receptions, festival nights, company parties

    DJ set

    Arabic and Latin American sounds, played by someone who knows the records.

    Chaabi, raï, malouf, gnawa, salsa, son, cumbia — and the places where these worlds touch. I play where an audience is meant to dance without the music becoming arbitrary. Length, volume and curve are agreed with you beforehand.

    Radio & music editing

    A pile of recordings becomes a broadcast with an attitude.

    Hosting, music selection and editing for broadcasts and series — out of years at RBB Radio Multikulti and my own show Nouris Radyoun. Plus music editing for recordings: I have overseen CD productions at the Wergo label.

    Cultural journeys

    Access to places and people you do not get from outside.

    A journey curated like a festival: with concerts, encounters and context. The Journey to Tunisia is the format it grew out of — it is possible everywhere I have had contacts for decades.

    For municipalities, neighbourhood centres, schools, community projects

    Intercultural programme work

    A programme for a place where no audience is waiting yet.

    Cultural work where there is no hall and no subscribers: in the courtyard, in the community centre, in the school. It is the most laborious and the most rewarding form of this work — and it decides who feels at home in a city.

Fees & terms

What it costs is in writing beforehand.

A conference panel, a six-week festival strand and a DJ set at midnight are three completely different commissions — a single price list for them would be dishonest. That is why the same procedure always applies here.

  • Ways of billing

    Depending on the commission: day rate, project fee or consulting hour. I tell you in the first conversation which one fits your plan.

  • Offer before the start

    You get scope, schedule and fee in writing before any work is done. Only then does anything begin.

  • First conversation free

    Getting to know each other and the first assessment cost nothing — even if no commission comes of it.

  • Travel and incidental costs

    Shown separately and agreed beforehand. No items that only appear on the invoice.

Process

From the enquiry to the evening.

  1. First conversation

    Free and without obligation, usually on the phone. You tell me what you have in mind; I tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it and what is realistic.

  2. Offer, in writing

    You get scope, schedule and fee in writing before anything starts. No surprises on the invoice.

  3. Research & proposal

    I put line-ups, formats and a dramaturgical proposal in front of you — with alternatives, not as an either-or.

  4. Delivery

    Negotiation, contracts, riders, visas, schedules. You have one person to call, not a department.

  5. The evening

    I am on site — with hosting if needed. Afterwards a short, honest review: what carried and what did not.
