What more than four decades of cultural work have become: eight programmes, festivals, conferences and one cultural journey — each with a page of its own, each with whatever sets it apart from the rest.

01 — The catalogue of works

Every work has its own reason.

Four series and festivals in Berlin, one festival on the Registan in Samarkand, two conference formats and a cultural journey to Tunisia. Click through — every page says what the format is, what my role was and what it works as a model for.

The series I founded and ran at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. A place where Berlin sounds like the world.

    Sharq Taronalari

    Registan, Samarkand, Uzbekistan

    The UNESCO-listed music festival on the Registan. Once every two years the most famous square in Central Asia becomes a stage.

02 — Where this happens

An evening has three states.

A venue that decides an hour before the start what kind of evening this will be.

In the hall

The moment a programme is built for: third piece, and nobody is looking at their phone any more.

Afterwards

Every evening leaves behind contacts, recordings and names — the material for the next one.
