Some subjects cannot be addressed by putting on a concert. Then you need a panel — and someone to put it together.
Islam et modernité is a conference, not a concert. The work still looks similar: you assemble voices that have something to say to one another, give them an order, and make sure an audience that is not from the field can follow.
The difference lies in the responsibility. With a subject like this, the composition of the panel decides whether a conversation emerges or a shouting match. I make sure several generations, several languages and several backgrounds are represented — and that nobody sits on the panel as the representative of an entire religion.
For foundations, cultural institutes and venues that want to take on a politically charged subject, I take over concept, panel, hosting and the coordination between languages.
